Journey back in time to the golden age of steam with a ride behind a steam locomotive!

Step back in time and experience what it was like to travel by steam train with a ride through South Yard on a steam locomotive, taking in the changing landscape and waving to passengers on the miniature railway.

Steam rides are currently hauled by the Beattie Well Tank, which was originally built in 1874 for the London and South Western Railway and numbered 298. It was designed for use on passenger services in the suburbs of London and later renumbered 30587 under British Railways in 1948.
